The Arab League condemned, in the strongest terms, the continued attacks by the Houthi militia on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the latest of which were the attacks targeting Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport, resulting in a number of casualties and injuries among citizens and residents, as well as material damage to the airports.

The League affirmed, in an official statement issued today (Thursday), that targeting civil aviation facilities and endangering the lives of travelers and workers represents a highly dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom, and a clear breach of international law and the United Nations Charter, warning of the dangers of the continuation of these attacks and their expanding scope and repeated targeting of civilian and vital facilities.

The League reiterated its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing by its side in facing any attacks that target its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory, affirming that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Arab national security.

The Arab League expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, emphasizing the necessity of an immediate halt to these attacks and avoiding further escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.

According to what was announced by the General Authority of Civil Aviation yesterday (Wednesday), the attack on Abha International Airport resulted in the deaths of two residents of Moroccan and Algerian nationalities, and the injury of 28 people, while the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh led to the death of a Sudanese resident and the injury of 8 people, including citizens and residents, among them two Egyptians. The authority clarified that the injured were transferred to hospitals for medical care, while the relevant authorities began assessing the damage and taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of travelers and workers at the airports.

The coalition announces the destruction of 82 targets in Yemen

In a military development related to the attacks, the spokesman for the Coalition Forces Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced that the coalition’s joint forces carried out a wide-ranging attack targeting sites belonging to the Houthi group in Yemen. Al-Maliki stated that the operation resulted, according to what the coalition reported, in the destruction of 82 military targets in the provinces of Saada, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf, and Marib, explaining that the targets included facilities related to missile capabilities, command and control centers, communication systems, missile and weapon storage, and headquarters belonging to the group.

He added that the operation included the destruction of 11 ballistic missile storage facilities in mountainous areas in Saada province, also pointing to the destruction of a platform for launching ballistic missiles that he said was used to target Riyadh. The coalition spokesman confirmed that the attacks targeting civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom “will not go unpunished,” according to what Saudi media reported from his statement.
