After months of uncertainty surrounding her disappearance, U.S. authorities have revealed the identity of remains found in a waterway in Texas, which belong to Jordanian flight attendant Rana Nofal Solori, 47, who went missing in March 2025.

According to the British newspaper “Independent,” a local fisherman discovered the remains last June in “Brashy Creek” in the city of Montague, before they were sent to the University of North Texas for DNA testing, which confirmed they matched the victim.

Solori was working as a flight attendant for “Envoy Air,” a subsidiary of “American Airlines,” before her disappearance.

Accusation of her roommate for murder

The case dates back to last year when authorities arrested the victim’s roommate, 67-year-old Dennis William Day, and charged him with first-degree murder.

According to investigations, Day admitted to strangling Solori on the kitchen floor following a verbal altercation between them, before disposing of her body by throwing it off a bridge inside a black trash bag, with the help of a friend.

Day’s actions raised suspicions among investigators after surveillance footage from the home showed him dragging a lifeless body toward the backyard on the night of Solori’s disappearance. Investigations also revealed that he later disconnected the surveillance camera and hid some of the victim’s belongings.

Authorities also charged his friend, Johnny Thomas, on suspicion of her involvement and tampering with evidence related to the case in an effort to conceal the body.

End of the mystery

Day is currently held in Tarrant County Jail on a $200,000 bond, awaiting trial.

Fort Worth police stated that the identification of the remains represents a significant development in the case, after Solori’s family and those following the investigation had long been without answers regarding her fate.
