قاد النجم المصري عمر مرموش فريقه توتنهام إلى تحقيق انتصاره الأول في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز «بريميرليغ» هذا الموسم، بعد فوزه على ضيفه كوفنتري سيتي بثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدف، في المباراة التي أقيمت مساء (الإثنين) على ملعب «توتنهام هوتسبير»، ضمن منافسات الجولة السابعة.

افتتح جيمس ماديسون التسجيل لتوتنهام بتسديدة رائعةً من على حدود منطقة الجزاء في الدقيقة 14، لكن جاك رودوني أدرك التعادل لكوفنتري في الدقيقة 49، بتسديدة من مسافة قريبةً، مستغلاً ارتباك دفاع توتنهام.
ولم تستمر فرحة كوفنتري طويلاً، إذ أعاد عمر مرموش التقدم لتوتنهام بتسديدة صاروخيةً في الدقيقة 58، قبل أن يضيف بن ديفيز الهدف الثالث قبل صافرة النهاية، بتصويبة أرضيةً فشل حارس كوفنتري في إبعادها.
ترتيب الفريقين
بهذه النتيجة، رفع توتنهام رصيده إلى 6 نقاط، ليتقدم من المركز الأخير إلى المركز السادس عشر، متفوقاً بفارق الأهداف على كوفنتري، الذي تراجع إلى المركز السابع عشر.

James Maddison opened the scoring for Tottenham with a stunning shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 14th minute, but Jack Rodoni equalized for Coventry in the 49th minute with a close-range shot, taking advantage of the confusion in Tottenham’s defense.
Coventry’s joy did not last long, as Omar Marmoush restored Tottenham’s lead with a rocket shot in the 58th minute, before Ben Davies added the third goal just before the final whistle with a ground shot that the Coventry goalkeeper failed to clear.
Team Standings
With this result, Tottenham raised their points to 6, moving up from the last place to the sixteenth position, surpassing Coventry on goal difference, which dropped to the seventeenth position.
