كشفت الفنانة منى زكي جانبًا مؤلمًا من حياتها الشخصية، متحدثةً للمرة الأولى عن رحلة طويلة من المعاناة قبل إنجاب نجلها سليم، كما وضعت حدًا للشائعات التي طالت غياب زوجها أحمد حلمي عن تكريمها في مهرجان الجونة السينمائي.
وأكدت منى زكي أن غياب أحمد حلمي عن حفل التكريم لم يكن بسبب أي خلافات، موضحةً أنه كان خارج البلاد برفقة ابنتهما لي لي، ومشددةً على أن علاقتهما قائمة على الدعم المتبادل بعيدًا عن المنافسة الفنية.
وخلال حديثها، استعادت الفنانة المصرية واحدة من أصعب محطات حياتها، كاشفة أنها فقدت سبعة أجنة خلال سنوات متفرقة بسبب مرض مناعي كان يعيق استكمال الحمل، سواء في محاولات الحمل الطبيعي أو عبر التلقيح الصناعي.
وأوضحت أنها عاشت فترات نفسية قاسية بفعل تكرار التجربة، قبل أن تنجح في تجاوز الأزمة بعد تلقي العلاج المناسب، ما مكّنها من استكمال حملها وإنجاب نجلها سليم وهي في الأربعين من عمرها.
كما تحدثت عن مشوارها الفني، مؤكدة تمسكها باختيار الأدوار التي تقتنع بها حتى في بداياتها، رغم الانتقادات التي واجهتها بسبب اعتذارها عن بعض الأعمال، مشيرة إلى أن التجارب الحياتية والسنوات كفيلة بتغيير نظرة الفنان إلى الأدوار التي يقدمها.
وعبّرت منى زكي عن سعادتها بالتكريم الذي حظيت به في مهرجان الجونة، معتبرة إياه محطة مهمة في مسيرتها الفنية، ومؤكدة امتنانها لكل الفرص والتجارب التي مرت بها طوال مشوارها.

During her talk, the Egyptian artist recalled one of the toughest phases of her life, revealing that she lost seven embryos over several years due to an autoimmune disease that hindered her from completing her pregnancies, whether in natural attempts or through artificial insemination.
She explained that she experienced harsh psychological periods due to the repeated attempts, before she succeeded in overcoming the crisis after receiving appropriate treatment, which enabled her to complete her pregnancy and give birth to her son Selim at the age of forty.
She also spoke about her artistic journey, affirming her commitment to choosing roles that she believes in even in her early days, despite the criticisms she faced for declining some projects, indicating that life experiences and the passing years are sufficient to change an artist’s perspective on the roles they take on.
Mona Zaki expressed her happiness with the honor she received at the El Gouna Film Festival, considering it an important milestone in her artistic career, and she confirmed her gratitude for all the opportunities and experiences she has encountered throughout her journey.
