لقي ستة أشخاص، بينهم طفل، حتفهم إثر تحطم طائرة صغيرة في منطقة غابات قرب بلدة ديلونا بولاية ويسكونسن الأمريكية، وفق ما أعلنته السلطات المحلية.
وأوضحت السلطات أن الطيار أبلغ أحد مراقبي الحركة الجوية، قبيل وقوع الحادث، عن تراكم الجليد على أجنحة الطائرة أثناء تحليقها في أجواء شهدت عاصفة رعدية، مؤكدة عدم نجاة أي من الأشخاص الذين كانوا على متنها.
وأضافت أن الحادث لم يسفر عن أضرار في المنشآت أو إصابات على الأرض، فيما يتولى المجلس الوطني لسلامة النقل قيادة التحقيق لتحديد أسباب التحطم وملابساته.
ووقع الحادث على بُعد نحو 16 كيلومترًا غرب مدينة ويسكونسن ديلز.
Six people, including a child, lost their lives in a small plane crash in a forested area near the town of Delona in Wisconsin, USA, according to local authorities.
Authorities explained that the pilot reported to an air traffic controller, shortly before the incident, about ice accumulation on the wings of the aircraft while flying in conditions that experienced a thunderstorm, confirming that none of the individuals on board survived.
They added that the incident did not result in damage to facilities or injuries on the ground, while the National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the crash.
The accident occurred about 16 kilometers west of Wisconsin Dells.
