عون: التفاوض بديل الحرب.. والاتفاق ينهي العداء مع إسرائيل – أخبار السعودية
أكد الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون، اليوم (الخميس)، أن التفاوض يمثل البديل عن الحرب، وأن الاتفاق هو الوسيلة الوحيدة لإنهاء حالة العداء بين لبنان وإسرائيل، مشيراً إلى استمرار الاتصالات للتوصل إلى صيغة بديلة لقوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان «اليونيفيل».
وقال عون، خلال استقباله الممثلة العليا للاتحاد الأوروبي للشؤون الخارجية والسياسة الأمنية كايا كالاس في قصر بعبدا، إن الجيش اللبناني يقوم بواجبه في المناطق التي انتشر فيها جنوب نهر الليطاني، فيما تواصل إسرائيل اعتداءاتها على البلدات والقرى الجنوبية، وترفض تنفيذ بنود «اتفاق الإطار».
وأوضح أن لبنان يعمل مع الولايات المتحدة والدول الصديقة للضغط من أجل تنفيذ الاتفاق الذي جرى برعاية أمريكية، مؤكداً تمسك بلاده بالمسار الدبلوماسي.
وفي ملف «اليونيفيل»، أكد عون رغبة لبنان في أن تكون أي قوة بديلة تحت راية الأمم المتحدة.
من جانبها، شددت كالاس على رفض أي فراغ أمني في الجنوب، مؤكدة دعم الاتحاد الأوروبي للجيش اللبناني، فيما قالت إن تمديد مهمة «اليونيفيل» سيكون الخيار الأفضل.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed today (Thursday) that negotiation represents an alternative to war, and that an agreement is the only means to end the state of hostility between Lebanon and Israel, pointing out that communications continue to reach an alternative formula for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, “UNIFIL”.
Aoun stated, during his meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, at the Baabda Palace, that the Lebanese army is fulfilling its duty in the areas where it has deployed south of the Litani River, while Israel continues its assaults on southern towns and villages and refuses to implement the terms of the “framework agreement”.
He explained that Lebanon is working with the United States and friendly countries to pressure for the implementation of the agreement that was sponsored by the United States, affirming his country’s commitment to the diplomatic path.
Regarding the “UNIFIL” file, Aoun confirmed Lebanon’s desire for any alternative force to be under the banner of the United Nations.
For her part, Kallas emphasized the rejection of any security vacuum in the south, affirming the European Union’s support for the Lebanese army, while stating that extending the mission of “UNIFIL” would be the best option.
