Journalists and writers recalled aspects of the journey of the late colleague Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Mansour, former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper “Al-Jazirah,” reminiscing about his high professionalism, noble ethics, and humility, which made him a memorable figure among his colleagues as one of the most prominent creators of journalistic work behind the scenes.
Media consultant Mohammed Al-Tunisi recalled his early days in journalism, pointing out that Al-Mansour crafted his first news story that topped the front page as a “headline” in the newspaper “Al-Jazirah” during the second week of entering the profession, describing the late journalist as a “newsroom officer,” due to his skill in managing editorial work and crafting headlines, alongside his calmness, kindness, and patience.
For his part, journalist Dawood Al-Sharyan mourned him through his account on the “X” platform, with words that highlighted the value of journalists who work behind the scenes, describing Al-Mansour as one of those who “create newspapers rather than being created by them,” affirming that individuals like him form a fundamental pillar in the success of journalistic institutions, even if their names are unknown to many readers.
Publisher of the newspaper “Elaph,” Othman Al-Omair, recalled his camaraderie with Al-Mansour at the newspaper “Al-Riyadh,” where he worked as a technical journalist, and then at “Al-Jazirah,” where he progressed until he became Deputy Editor-in-Chief, describing him as professional, polite, humble, and passionate about his profession.
In turn, Dr. Mohammed Al-Owain noted that Al-Mansour was an experienced journalist who performed precise tasks in the “journalistic kitchen” at “Al-Jazirah” and the magazine “Al-Yamamah,” relying on professional experience, the ability to balance, good judgment, and consideration of publishing requirements.
Al-Owain added that the late journalist’s calmness, elegance, smile, and ability to contain differences and soothe tensions made him a model of a journalist who combines editorial competence with good interpersonal skills, fulfilling his responsibilities away from the spotlight with confidence and capability.
Meanwhile, media figure Dr. Fahd Al-Arabi recalled his camaraderie with Al-Mansour at the magazine “Al-Yamamah,” when he was its editor-in-chief and Al-Mansour was his deputy, affirming that he was an example of professionalism, discipline, and dedication, and that his status was not only linked to the positions he held but also to his ethics and good treatment of his colleagues and friends.
The testimonies of Al-Mansour’s colleagues reflect a journalistic career that combined mastery of the profession with noble conduct, solidifying his presence in the memory of the media community as one of those who leave their mark in newspapers and earn people’s respect through their ethics before their positions.
